Pro Bono

As part of the Social Responsibility in the Legal Community, Pro Bono Foundation of the Dominican Republic and Law Firm RUSSIN, VECCHI & HEREDIA BONETTI, S.R.L., signed a collaboration agreement to promote access to justice for people, communities or groups in a vulnerable situation of public interest cases.

For this purpose both institutions signed an agreement to work together on all processes vindication of the fundamental rights as part of the contribution of corporate social responsibility in the legal community in the country.

“What we are looking for is provide to the legal kind with the necessary tools that contribute to social change and ethical commitment to the legal community and society in general”, exposed by the signers.

The agreement was signed by Lic. Georges Santoni Recio, Manager-President of the RUSSIN, VECCHI & HEREDIA BONETTI, S.R.L. Firm and Teofilo Rosario Martínez, President of the Pro Bono Foundation Dominican Republic, Dr. Rosa Campillo Celado was present in her capacity of Founding Partner, in charge from the date of Pro Bono Chapter by the RUSSIN, VECCHI & HEREDIA BONETTI, S.R.L. Firm, also Alexandra Mateo, Gerardo Antonio Baldera Calderón and Vaughn González, in their conditions of coordinators and members of the Foundation.

This agreement pursues to internal the implementation of the Law Firm’s Guide to the Pro Bono Programs Implementation Firms in Latin America and the Pro Bono Declaration of the Americas, which are subject to all cases that requiring free legal assistance through Law Firms or National Volunteer Lawyers Network.

The signed document is part of the mission of organizing and directing the Pro Bono activities inside the Legal Research and Private Law Office, to design “Coordinator Chapter who will be responsible to the jobs requests arising from the Foundation and forward the concerns and experiences of Pro Bono study.”

In the same way seeks to develop, implement and disseminate policies and procedures by the institution, that it adopt the study to organize into practice and apply the same in all parts of the purposes and objectives of the Foundation, and implement in the Studio rules of procedure for receipt, acceptance or rejection of requests for pro bono work in accordance with the purposes and objectives of the Foundation and Implementation Guide Pro Bono Program in Private Firms.

Also Georges Santoni Recio and Teofilo Rosario inform that within the period of the agreement, including the “Pro Bono Seal” Pro Bono hours, reports and everything that may serves to help support the Foundation and the social responsibility of lawyer in the Dominican Republic .

As part of the agreement, RUSSIN, VECCHI & HEREDIA BONETTI, S.R.L. Firm from the date of signature of this agreement is part of the Advisory Council of the Foundation, which along with other Legal Private Studies will aim to promote the Legal Volunteer in the Great Legal Private Studies as a tool for social change and ethical commitment to the legal community.

The agreement was announced at the International Pro Bono Network and Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice of the New York City Bar
