The firm Russin, Vecchi & Heredia Bonetti, along with its Continued Legal Education Department, held its customary monthly legal colloquium, last Thursday, September 17th, at the Grand Consular events room in the El Embajador Occidental Hotel. The topic “Cinema Law and its new Standards, Regulations and Controls”, was presented by Mr. Ellis Perez, General Director of the Dominican Republic‘s General Directorate of Cinema (DGCINE) and Carol Suarez Nuñez, head of said institution’s Legal Department.
The discussion provided useful information in relation to developments that have recently taken place in the application of the Law No. 108-10, to incentivize cinematographic activity in the country; as well as, the implementation of Regulations No. 370-11, with emphasis in rules and procedures that enable better access to the benefits this law offers.
As usual, the event counted with the support of the Center for Research and Study of Business Law (CEDEMPRESA), the Specialized Institute of Advanced Business Law Studies (IDEMPRESA), the Inter-American Bar Association and Apec University. The activity was attended by attorneys, clients, and other persons related to the firm, as well as representatives of local film companies, investors on such industry and persons interested in the subject in general.
